New Acer Chromebook with MediaTek Processor Coming Soon

Nowadays the trend Chromebook starts to increase, and are mostly found Chromebooks out there that have the specification is quite promising with a more affordable price. But today most of the Chromebook that we have seen today launched the Intel processor carries.

This time Intel does control most of the PC and laptop market, including Chromebooks. But it seems that Intel may soon get a new competitor in the realm of mobile chipsets, especially for Chromebooks. The news comes from Taiwanese PC manufacturer Acer is preparing to launch new Chromebooks with processors from MediaTek, which will essentially make the company became the first to launch such products.
The idea Chromebook runs on ARM-based processors is not new, since last year MediaTek has demonstrated that ARM processors can be pinned on a Chromebook. The product reportedly named Acer Chromebook R13 and has the specs are fairly reliable, including internal storage options 16 / 32GB, Bluetooth, and WiFi, but unfortunately beyond that not much else is known about the device.

To date not yet known, whether the R13 will adopt a similar design to R11 more than the type of convertible Chromebook, so today it is still a mystery.

With the upcoming IFA event in the coming months, Acer may be able to announce such products.
