Huawei Reveals Identity Kirin 960 chipset, Faster than Apple A10?

Chipset latest top of Huawei finally officially announced after it was struck by the many issues some time ago. The chipset will be paired on Huawei's flagship smartphone reportedly brought a considerable increase from the previous series, Kirin 950. 

Quoted from Phone Arena, Wednesday (10/19/2016), Kirin 960 chipset still uses the same architecture, big.LITTLE. Means the chipset is similar to the chipset on the market, which use two different clusters of processors used.



At Kirin 960 chipset will use two different processors, on the ARM Cortex-A73 and Cortex A-53, each of which has four cores. As for the graphics processor Huawei rely on the Mali-G71 MP8. 

When compared to the previous chipset, Kirin 950, Huawei said that the level of efficiency of the processor used increases as much as 15%. Then for the GPU in use today have an efficiency greater than 20%, with an increase in performance of up to 180%.



Kirin 960 chipset also supports memory usage by type of LPDDR4, as it has been used several new smartphones today. Another improvement was also found in the modern sector, which has been supporting the LTE 4G network Cat.12 / 13, which is capable of producing speed downlink / uplink up to 600Mbps / 150Mbps.


Range of radio frequencies that can be captured by any of these chipsets ranging from 330MHz to 3.8GHz. Oh yes Kirin 960 chipset is manufactured by TSMC with 16nm fabrication. Through a slide presentation shown by Huawei, in some Kirin 960 chipset testing is beyond the top of the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and Apple A10 Fusion.


But for the real test is still unknown because there is no smartphone that is supported by this chipset. But not to worry because Huawei has prepared Mate 9 which would adopt Kirin 960 chipset, which is present on Nov. 3.
